About the Role

As an SEO Strategist at Bonsai, you won’t be siloed. You’ll be hands-on with research, strategy, and execution, client-facing in communications, and a core part of the team driving results. You’ll build multi-layered SEO campaigns and dive deep into content, tech audits, analytics, and optimization—all while collaborating across departments and leveraging AI to enhance every layer of the workflow .

Your First 90 Days

This is a full-time contract role for the first 90 days. If the fit’s mutual (and we think it will be), there’s a clear path to transition into full-time employment with performance-based growth opportunities.

Your Core Responsibilities

• Develop and execute AI-informed SEO content strategies , aligned with client KPIs and growth goals.

• Implement and publish content across CMS platforms including WordPress, Webflow, and Umbraco.

• Perform and resolve technical SEO audits , from site structure to Core Web Vitals.

• Set up, refine, and analyze insights using Google Tag Manager and GA4 .

• Manage client relationships , including strategy reviews, reporting, and optimization cycles.

• Collaborate with designers, developers, and AI specialists to push innovation and performance.

What You Bring

• 2-5 years of experience in SEO with exposure to PPC, social, or digital marketing (agency experience preferred).

• Familiarity with integrating AI tools and automations into SEO workflows (e.g., content generation, reporting, predictive analysis).

• Expertise in GTM, GA4, Google Search Console , and top-tier tools like SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog.

• A sharp eye for user behavior, rankings, and real-world performance metrics .

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical insight into business value.

• Some background in web design and/or client/project management is a big plus.

We offer a competitive compensation package designed for both stability and growth:

• Base salary: $70,000

• Full benefits (90% coverage for medical, dental, vision) starting after 3 months

• Performance bonuses

• 3 weeks paid vacation (accrued)
