Weld Engineer – Confidential Manufacturing Company

Overview:
An industry-leading manufacturer is seeking an experienced Weld Engineer to join their team in the DFW Metro in Texas. This is a high-impact, on-site role responsible for developing and optimizing weld processes, supporting product launches, and driving continuous improvement across both manual and robotic welding operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead continuous improvement initiatives for welding processes, including both manual and robotic applications
Act as the welding subject matter expert across the organization
Develop and maintain Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), engineering work instructions, and technical documentation
Oversee the training and development of weld personnel
Support the design, testing, and implementation of new welding equipment and tools
Provide technical direction during new product development phases
Analyze process data and equipment performance to drive improvements
Recommend layout, tooling, or process changes to reduce costs and improve quality
Maintain regular on-site presence and perform additional duties as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Welding or Manufacturing Engineering preferred)
8+ years of experience in manufacturing or weld engineering
Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and weld symbols
Hands-on MIG and Pulse welding experience required
Proficiency with AWS D1.1 standards and welding codes
Experience with SolidWorks, WeldPro, and FANUC robotic systems strongly preferred
AWS-CWI certification preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months
Work Environment:
Requires physical activity including visual inspections and potential exposure to extreme temperatures in the plant
Occasional travel may be required to other locations
Must be safety-focused and capable of working independently and collaboratively
