Join Our Team as a Surgical Technologist!

As a Surgical Technologist at Carle Health, you will play a vital role in providing surgical technology for both direct and indirect patient care. You’ll assist surgeons during operative and invasive procedures, serve as a resource for fellow technologists, and help train new team members. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific operative/invasive procedures with precision and efficiency.
• Ensure instruments, equipment, and sutures are appropriate, complete, and functional.
• Set up a sterile field and be scrubbed in before the patient enters the room.
• Organize back tables and mayo stands for seamless transitions during procedures.
• Collaborate with surgeons to adapt to case needs and preferences.
• Mentor and precept surgical techs and RNs in preparation for procedures.
• Scrub on a variety of cases, from simple to complex, across multiple specialties.
• Anticipate intra-op needs and respond proactively to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain patient privacy and uphold a calm, confident demeanor during procedures.
• Participate in quality improvement efforts and foster a positive work environment.

Qualifications

• License/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Education: Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology or a Certificate of Completion in Surgical Technology.
• Skills: Strong critical thinking abilities and a commitment to continuous learning.

Working Conditions

• Be available for on-call hours outside of scheduled shifts, including after-hours, weekends, and holidays.
• Adhere to assigned call shifts in accordance with hospital policies.
• Work collaboratively with a diverse team to ensure optimal patient care.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $21.49 - $35.89 per hour . This range reflects a good faith minimum and maximum for the role at the time of posting. Actual compensation will depend on various factors, including experience, qualifications, and location.
