POSITION TITLE: Student Pastor
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Part-time or Full-time, Exempt
PRIMARY JOB DESCRIPTION: Provide opportunities for students to grow in their relationships with Christ by providing spiritual development and relational care for students. Work with the ministerial staff, support staff, and key leaders of the church, where necessary.
REPORTS TO: Lead Pastor
QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree required, Master of Divinity or similar degree in student education and faith development strongly preferred
• Strong faith and commitment to Christianity, to the Church, community, and to the wellbeing of students and their families.
• Strong communication skills
• Proactive individual who is a self-starter and able to act independently
• Highly organized and able to multi-task on a consistent basis
• Able to work on a team and discern best direction to lead
• Able to coordinate volunteers and leaders to provide care for Wieuca staff and church members

• Plan, prepare and provide faith development opportunities for students with opportunities to study the Bible, grow in their relationships with Christ and others
• Communicate with students and parents. This includes using social media to communicate with students and the Wieuca community
• Follow-up with first-time student guests and newcomers – assimilating them into the student ministry
• Plan, prepare and execute special events for students once a month to have social experiences. This includes Sunday Lunch Bunch held on the last Sunday of each month.
• Celebrate student’s life events such as birthdays, baptisms, etc. Invest in the students and their family’s lives by attending games, piano recitals, school plays, and other opportunities for connecting outside of the church
• Participate and lead Sunday morning worship services with other staff
• Provide opportunities for ministry and outreach with the After School Program and Camp Wieuca in coordination with After School, Camp Wieuca, and Activities Director.
• NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. The Student Pastor will perform other related duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of Wieuca.

• Continuing education and development is encouraged through yearly participation with denominational partners, affinity groups, leadership development opportunities, or other resources for growth in ministry-related fields
