Job Description

Job Title:  Project & Sales Manager

Location:  Eugene, OR

Company:  Oregon Steel Fabrication

About Us:

Oregon Steel Fabrication is a leader in custom steel fabrication and commercial construction services, specializing in structural steel, ornamental metalwork, and pre-engineered metal buildings. We are committed to delivering high-quality projects while maintaining exceptional customer service, safety, and innovative solutions. We are currently seeking an experienced Project & Sales Manager to join our growing team in Oregon.

Job Overview:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Project & Sales Manager to assist with project management, support estimating efforts, and drive sales for our steel fabrication services across Oregon. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and project management skills, a background in estimating support, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders. This role requires regular travel throughout Oregon for sales calls and client meetings. You will be managing a small, dedicated team of fewer than 10 people. A company vehicle will be provided for travel.

As a Project & Sales Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of projects and business growth. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Project Management: Take charge of managing multiple projects from start to finish. You’ll ensure each project stays on track, is completed on time, within budget, and meets the highest standards of quality. Your leadership will be key in coordinating teams and resources to bring every project to life.
  • Estimating Support: Work closely with our estimator, contributing valuable insights on project scope, labor, materials, and timelines. You’ll ensure all estimates are detailed and accurate, helping guide the financial and logistical aspects of each project.
  • Sales & Business Development: As a core part of our team, you will actively seek out new business opportunities within the Oregon market. Whether through lead generation, client meetings, or proposal presentations, you’ll play an essential role in growing the company’s client base and fostering long-term relationships. Expect regular travel to engage with clients and explore new sales opportunities.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and inspire a small, close-knit team of fewer than 10 individuals. You’ll empower your team members to succeed, ensuring clear communication and alignment with project goals.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction and trust in our services. Your ability to nurture these relationships will be key in securing repeat business and referrals.
  • Collaboration & Coordination: Work hand-in-hand with fabrication, welding, and construction teams to ensure smooth and efficient project execution. Your collaborative approach will be crucial in delivering exceptional results.
  • Budgeting & Scheduling: Take ownership of managing project budgets and timelines, keeping things on track and adjusting where needed to ensure project success.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all projects meet and exceed the company's strict quality standards. You’ll ensure that no detail is overlooked and that every project reflects our commitment to excellence.

Time Distribution:

To thrive in this role, we’ve structured the time distribution to balance the key areas of responsibility. Your time will be divided as follows:

  • Project Management (40%):  Oversee and guide project execution from start to finish, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and at the highest standard of quality.
  • Estimating Support (30%):  Assist with the estimating process, collaborating with the full-time estimator and ensuring that all project costings and details are accurate and comprehensive.
  • Sales & Business Development (30%):  Identify new business opportunities, engage with clients, and manage relationships, with regular travel across Oregon for sales meetings.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in project management and estimating in the construction, steel fabrication, or related industry.
  • Proven experience in sales, with the ability to identify and develop new business opportunities.
  • Strong management and leadership skills, with the ability to manage a small team (fewer than 10 people) and multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to assist with estimating efforts, working alongside a full-time estimator.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong knowledge of project management software and tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of steel fabrication and construction processes is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout Oregon for sales calls and client meetings. A company vehicle will be provided.
  • Willingness to travel frequently across Oregon.

What We Offer:

  • Health benefits (medical, dental, vision).
