Performance Responsibilities: 1.Greets and introduces visitors. 2.Answers telephone and routes calls as necessary. 3.Types news releases and routes to local media. 4.Handles the principal's daily appointment calendar. Makes appointments for principal and teachers as may be required. 5.Types conference reports for principal. 6.Arranges field trips for teachers, upon request of principal, and prepares the necessary forms for approval. 7.Types routine correspondence and reports, including forms required by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and other agencies relating to the administration of the school. 8.Types confidential reports for the principal, including teacher evaluations. 9.Maintains current files on correspondence. 10.Maintains pupil record files and registers for the school. 11.Types committee reports for assigned personnel, i.e., curriculum committees. 12.Registers new students for the school. Initiates the request for records for incoming transfer students. 13.Completes transfer forms and prepares records for transfer as required for outgoing transfer students. 14.Types and reproduces forms required in the administration of the school. 15.Types and disseminates memoranda for the principal, including notices to teachers, faculty bulletins, notices to parents, etc. 16.Acts as intermediary for the principal. 17.Performs cafeteria duty, with a teacher, in the absence of the principal. 18.Sorts and distributes daily mail. Opens and sorts the principal's mail and correspondence. 20.Notifies the School Nurse in the event of an injury or ailment. 21.Types, as needed, annual budget requests for teachers. When budgets are approved, types, maintains records, and forwards purchase orders relative to regular budgetary items, as approved by the principal. 22.Does typing, duplicating, and clerical functions as required by the principal, teachers, support faculty, and instructional aides. 23.Performs other duties as assigned by principal. Salary based on experience and negotiated contract pay scale.
