Quality Assurance Technician – Food Industry
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance (QA) Technician to join our food manufacturing team. This role ensures that all products meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards by conducting inspections, monitoring processes, and implementing quality control measures. The ideal candidate has experience in food production, knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, and FDA/USDA regulations, and a strong commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Control Inspections: Perform routine inspections of raw materials, in-process production, and finished products to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Food Safety Compliance: Implement and monitor HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and FDA/USDA food safety standards.
Testing & Documentation: Conduct microbiological, chemical, and sensory tests to verify product quality, documenting findings and reporting any deviations.
Process Monitoring: Work closely with production teams to ensure proper sanitation, allergen control, and food handling practices are followed.
Non-Conformance Management: Identify and document deviations or non-conforming products , conduct root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions.
Training & Compliance: Assist in training employees on food safety protocols, sanitation procedures, and quality standards .
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate quality assurance records, inspection logs, and reports for regulatory audits and customer requirements .
Continuous Improvement: Support process improvements and contribute to quality initiatives that enhance efficiency and product consistency.
Qualifications & Experience:
Experience: Minimum 2–5 years of experience in quality assurance or food safety within a food manufacturing environment.
Education: Associate or Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, or a related field preferred.
Certifications: HACCP certification, PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual), or SQF (Safe Quality Food) certification is a plus.
Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of FDA, USDA, and industry food safety standards .
Technical Skills: Experience with quality testing, lab equipment, and food safety software .
Attention to Detail: Ability to detect and resolve quality issues with strong analytical and problem-solving skills .
