Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Temporary Consultant to oversee the accounting and operations for a short-term vacation rental business. The successful candidate will transition all responsibilities from the current accounting manager and take on the day-to-day management of support staff based in India.

1. Transition Management:
   • Seamlessly transition responsibilities from the current accounting manager to ensure continuity in operations
   • Manage and coordinate day-to-day activities of the support staff in India
2. Plan Development:
   • Create a comprehensive plan for transitioning responsibilities to a third-party consulting firm
   • Execute the transition plan effectively within the assignment timeline
3. Financial Reporting:
   • Develop detailed financial statements and reporting packages
   • Ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards
4. Tax Coordination:
   • Coordinate state and local tax payments, ensuring timely and accurate submissions
5. Process Documentation:
   • Document current processes and internal controls to facilitate the transition
   • Identify areas for improvement and optimization in existing workflows
6. Collaboration with Management:
   • Work closely with management to identify tasks and responsibilities to transition to the third-party consulting/business management firm
   • Provide insights and recommendations based on industry best practices

• Significant experience in accounting and operations, preferably within the short-term vacation rental or hospitality industry
• Proven track record of successfully managing transitions and consulting assignments
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on financial reporting and tax compliance
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage remote teams effectively
• Ability to work independently and "get into the weeds" to ensure project completion
