Role and Responsibilities:

As a Stocker , you'll help keep our store organized and stocked. You'll work with a supportive team, including many people with disabilities, to ensure our shelves are full and products are fresh.

Help sort and move products from delivery trucks to the store shelves.

Put products on shelves where they belong and make sure items are easy to find.

Move older products to the front of the shelves and place new items behind them to keep products fresh.

  • Check for and take off any expired products from the shelves.
  • Make sure your work area is clean and safe.
  • Use safety gear and follow safety guidelines to stay safe at work.
  • Get to know our products to help customers better.
  • Let the Project Manager know if something goes wrong or if you need help.

Qualifications:

  • Work well with others and be supportive.
  • Notice when products need to be moved or replaced.
  • Follow safety rules and use personal protective equipment (PPE).

Requirements:

  • No experience needed, we will train you.

Physical Demands:

  • Stockers regularly lift heavy boxes, crates, or bags, which can range from 20 to 50 pounds or more. The stock can be awkwardly shaped or bulky, requiring careful handling to avoid injury.
  • Stockers often need to reach high shelves or bend down to stock low shelves. This can involve stretching, squatting, or even using ladders or step stools to access higher shelves.
  • Stockers frequently use carts or pallet jacks to move large quantities of stock across the store. These items may be heavy or difficult to maneuver, requiring physical strength and coordination.
  • The tasks involved in stocking—such as placing items on shelves, organizing products, or scanning barcodes—require repetitive movements. Over time, this can lead to strain in the wrists, shoulders, or back if not done with proper technique.
  • Stockers often spend long hours standing or walking, which can lead to leg and back fatigue. Extended standing can also lead to swelling in the feet or legs.
  • Stockers need good hand-eye coordination for tasks such as arranging products, organizing, or using equipment like barcode scanners.

Environmental Demands:

  • While general stockers are not typically exposed to the extreme cold of the frozen or chilled sections, they may still experience temperature variations, particularly if they work near refrigerated sections, loading docks, or outdoor storage areas.
  • Depending on the section of the store (e.g., produce, dairy, or meat), humidity levels can vary. Stockers may need to handle wet produce or deal with condensation from refrigerated areas, making the environment potentially uncomfortable or slippery.
  • Grocery stores can be noisy environments, especially during busy times. Stockers may be exposed to the sounds of other employees, carts, forklifts, and store equipment like freezers and refrigeration units. This noise can be distracting or lead to fatigue over time.
  • Most grocery stores have bright fluorescent lighting. This can be uncomfortable for stockers, especially if they are working long hours. Additionally, lighting can contribute to eye strain, especially in poorly lit or dim sections of the store.
  • Floors may become slippery due to spills, water from refrigerated sections, or product breakage. Stockers must remain cautious of potential hazards like sharp objects, wet floors, or boxes that may cause trips and falls.
  • Stockers may come into contact with cleaning products or chemicals used to sanitize the store. While these are usually safe when handled properly, improper exposure could lead to skin irritation, respiratory issues, or eye damage if safety guidelines are not followed.
  • Stockers often work in narrow aisles or crowded store environments, requiring them to maneuver around customers, other employees, or store displays. This can increase the risk of accidents, especially during busy hours.

If you meet these qualifications and are eager to start a new job with CW Resources, we encourage you to APPLY today!!

We welcome all individuals to apply for this position. At CW, we are committed to maintaining a respectful and supportive work environment where all employees are valued for their contributions.
