We are looking for a Lead Data Engineer for the Enterprise Data Organization to design, build and manage data pipelines (Data ingestion, data transformation, data distribution, quality rules, data storage etc.) for Azure cloud-based data platform. The candidate will be required to possess strong technical, analytical, programming, and critical thinking skills. RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead/guide multiple technical data engineering resources. Lead by example – designing, building, maintaining and using of our platforms and services to manage data. Demonstrate and guide implementation of Infrastructure as code, automated testing and modern observability strategies. Responsible for growing an engineering culture of craftsmanship through mentoring, technical leadership as well as formal and informal presentations across data teams at Inspire. Work closely with Product owners/managers to understand the business needs. Collaborate with architects, data modelers and other team members to design data engineering processes to fulfill business needs. Lead sessions with data engineers and provide necessary guidance to solve technical challenges. Develop new and/or enhance existing data processes (Data Ingest, Data Transformation, Data Store, Data Management, Data Quality). Actively contribute towards setting up and refining data engineering best practices. Help data engineers adhere to coding standards, best practices, etc. and produce production deployable code that is robust, scalable and reusable. Document technical artifacts for data engineering solutions. Study new technology trends, execute POCs for new technologies and make recommendations. Experience with performance tuning and scaling of services. Good interpersonal skills; comfort and competence in dealing with different teams within the organization. Experience with Agile practices and methodologies. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS: 4 Year Degree and/or Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, information science or related field, or equivalent work. 8 plus years of professional experience. 5 years of experience in a Data Engineering role. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Experience in one of the cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, GCP. Advanced SQL queries, scripts, stored procedures, materialized views (5+ yrs experience). Focus on ELT to load data into database and perform transformations in database (5+ yrs experience). Ability to use analytical SQL functions. Experience in Python is required. Snowflake experience a plus. Experience building Data lakes and warehouses. (5+ yrs experience). Cloud Data Warehouse solutions experience (Snowflake, Synapse, or Redshift); data modeling, analysis, programming – (5+ years experience with one or more cloud platforms). Experience with DevOps models utilizing a CI/CD tool (3+ yrs experience). Work in hands-on Cloud environment in Azure Cloud Platform (ADLS, Blob). Experience in one of the ETL tools like Informatica, Talend, Azure Data Factory, and BI tools like Tableau preferred. Experience with orchestration tools like Apache Airflow. Analyze data models.
