Lateral Environmental Law Partner Opportunity at a Premier Am Law 100 Firm
Our client, a prestigious Am Law 100 firm, is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Law Partner to join their team. This firm is renowned for its excellence in legal services and offers a supportive and flexible environment for its attorneys.
About the Role: This position is for a partner to join the Environmental Law Practice. The firm is Chambers recognized in this practice area and represents a prestigious clientele, including major energy companies, large manufacturers, real estate developers, government agencies, technology firms, financial institutions, and transportation and infrastructure companies. This role offers a significant opportunity as it is part of the firm’s succession planning. The firm offers flexible billing rates and a business development budget, along with a full bench of associates for support.
Joining this practice means working alongside top-rated attorneys who handle a wide range of environmental issues, including complex litigation involving environmental regulations, enforcement actions, and disputes, defending clients in lawsuits related to environmental contamination, toxic torts, and regulatory compliance, advising clients on compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations such as the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, and CERCLA, assisting clients in obtaining necessary environmental permits for various projects including construction, manufacturing, and energy production, advising on climate change regulations, greenhouse gas emissions, and sustainability initiatives, and helping companies develop and implement strategies to reduce environmental impact, guiding clients through the process of investigating and remediating contaminated sites, managing cleanup efforts under state and federal Superfund laws, and advising on liability issues related to contaminated properties, addressing environmental impacts, securing permits, and ensuring regulatory compliance for energy-related activities including renewable energy projects, oil and gas development, and utility regulations, advising on the use and conservation of natural resources including water rights, endangered species, wetlands, and land development, and assisting with land use planning, zoning issues, and environmental impact assessments, conducting environmental due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and real estate transactions, assessing environmental risks, liabilities, and regulatory compliance status of properties and companies.
Candidate Requirements: Partners should have a minimum $2 million book of business. The firm is committed to investing in the right candidate and is willing to pay what it takes to secure top talent. Billing rates for partners exceed $1,000 per hour. Our client is open to individuals, groups, or boutique firms.
