Job Description

Arlo Hotels, an independent lifestyle hotel, is now actively seeking a dynamic Group Sales Manager .

This position is responsible for proactively generating new business and providing account management for new and existing accounts. You will work with other Sales Managers to meet and exceed monthly revenue goals, prepare and execute action plans, negotiate rates/contracts, and qualify customers. The Group Sales Manager will represent the Arlo brand and embrace its values and culture in each interaction.

Responsibilities and Authorities

  1. Proactively lead and generate new group business opportunities, drive pricing, direct sales, and results for designated accounts and market segments in conjunction with the Senior Group Sales Manager.
  2. Manage a portfolio of the hotel's top national and international key accounts.
  3. Prospect regularly, maintain, solicit, and book business independently.
  4. Develop and maintain customer relationships to achieve optimum market share.
  5. Identify, qualify, solicit, and pursue prospective group & meeting business from market information and purchased lead sources, analyzing historical and statistical data.
  6. Prepare, execute, and complete Action Plans for soliciting group business.
  7. Manage the hotel's RFP process and rate negotiations according to guidelines.
  8. Maintain product knowledge, including rate structures and promotional offers.
  9. Plan and execute sales trips aligned with the Sales and Marketing plan.
  10. Quote and negotiate prices, confirm reservations, and finalize contracts with customers.
  11. Coordinate with hotel departments post-closing to ensure delivery of excellent guest services.
  12. Prepare reports as required by procedural guidelines.
  13. Participate in trade shows, conventions, and promotional events.
  14. Achieve room nights and revenue goals.
  15. Communicate effectively with the team and guests, demonstrating professionalism and clarity.
  16. Remain calm and serve as a role model during emergency situations or busy periods.
  17. Make decisions based on experience and good judgment, revising procedures as needed.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to exceptional service delivery.

Requirements

  • University or college degree, preferably in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel & Restaurant Management, or related fields.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Group Sales Manager is preferred.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend continuously.
  • Exceptional communication skills in English, both oral and written, with patience, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Ability to work under pressure during busy periods.
  • Proficiency in computer systems, including Microsoft Office, Delphi Cloud, Opera Cloud, and Cvent.
  • Proven leadership, entrepreneurial spirit, innovative thinking, and team motivation skills.
  • Organized, efficient, and capable of prioritizing multiple projects.
  • Professional appearance and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Strong work ethic, self-starter attitude, and positive approach.
  • Multi-tasking ability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Curiosity and analytical skills; experience with innovative brands is a plus.
