Role Description:

The COBOL Developer is responsible for supporting the applications and data needs of our customers and vendors. This role involves application development in a mainframe COBOL environment, providing technical support for multiple enterprise COBOL applications and EDI systems. The successful candidate will be involved in designing, developing, and implementing enhancements and new capabilities to improve system functionality.

Responsibilities:

• Support the technical deliverables for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of EDI solutions.
• Interpret business requirements and design, build, and test processes to ensure high data quality and optimal system performance.
• Lead technical troubleshooting efforts in support of critical business applications.
• Develop technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, process flow diagrams, and prototypes, to effectively communicate design ideas.
• Provide status updates on work progress to the team and management.
• Assist in defining scope and providing technical estimates for large and complex projects.
• Establish strong working relationships with stakeholders to design end-to-end solutions.
• Collaborate with team members and cross-functional partners to support business processes and system solutions.

Minimum Requirements:

• 5-7 years of COBOL mainframe experience.
• Strong experience and proficiency in COBOL/CICS applications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, prioritization, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to learn new technologies to solve business challenges.
• Ability to deliver assigned work within project timelines.
• Effective communication skills to engage with project teams, business partners, and senior management.

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience with EDI solutions and tools.
• Proficiency in enterprise applications, including Accounts Payable, Purchase Order Management, and Inventory solutions.
• Experience managing third-party vendors and service levels.
