About the Role

The Company is seeking a Career Services Specialist to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing career and employment-planning services to both current and former students, supporting faculty in career development, and promoting job and internship opportunities with employers. This role is pivotal in engaging and connecting with students from the beginning of their academic journey through to their transition into the workforce, with a focus on increasing their employability upon completion of their professional-technical degree or certificate. Key responsibilities include offering assistance with job searches, resume preparation, interviewing skills, and other aspects of the employment process. The specialist will also work to integrate guided pathways program outcomes into students' employment plans and skill development. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for a Bachelor's degree in education, social/human services, or a related field. A minimum of two years of experience in providing direct career and employment-planning services is required. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of professional-technical programs, student employment, and career assessment and readiness strategies. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills are essential, as is a commitment to supporting the diverse and unique needs of the student population. The role involves working closely with various campus and community stakeholders, so the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships is also a key requirement.
